A YEAR WITHOUT SUMMER
A YEAR WITHOUT SUMMER: Book One of the Benandanti
The year is 1816, and through the eyes of Mary Shelley we join Lord Byron and Percy Shelley as they pursue a supernatural killer on the shores of Lake Geneva and across the nightmare landscapes of their own dreams. With more than 100+ illustrations by the author.
THE BENANDANTI
The Benandanti are individuals said to be born in the caul and possess abilities that allow them to manipulate dreams.
THE SEEKER
The Seeker hears the chorus of dreamers and can influence the emotions of the dreamer and therefore the dream itself.
THE SHAPER
The Shaper manipulates the environment of dreams, their powers tied to a symbolic element such as fire or shadows.
THE SHIFTER
The Shifter can alter his reflection in the dreaming, changing shape either wholly or in part into one or more totemic animals.
THE SOVEREIGN
Born once in a generation, little is known about the Sovereign save that they seem to possess the powers of all 3 Benandanti.
THE SENTINEL
Vulnerable while they travel through dreams, the Seeker is appointed to protect the Benandanti while they sleep.
THE SLAVE
The Malendanti are creatures of nightmare that haunt and harrow their victims in their dreams until they are left hollow.
THE SACRIFICE
While the Malendanti can be driven away, there is only one way of destroying them— kill the dreamer whom they have possessed.
